Mosquitoes and other biting insects can make an overnight stay out-of-doors a miserable experience, especially if it’s an unexpected night out, far from the comforts of tent or home. I hike in the wilderness with a survival bag (keeps the wind off, but doesn’t really retain heat despite all the elaborate claims on the packet) and always take some netting along too. Not only does it mean I can sleep without being bitten all over my face and hands, but I can also use it (along with two branches) as a rudimentary net to catch fish from a river or lake. Along with a magnesium flint fire-starter, a sharp knife, and some parachute cord, mosquito netting makes life much easier and weighs hardly anything. In my opinion it’s a must-have item for anyone who is going to spend one or more nights in the wilderness without the standard tent and sleeping bag, etc.

We redecorated my daughter’s room and made it into a “sea” room. The fish net will be used at the top of the wall. The white net looks awesome against the aqua walls.

I ordered the white net and unfortunately we recieved a tan net. I notified the company and they immediately sent us the white net. It arrived in two days! They also included some starfish, shells and rope. What a nice suprise! We love the product and the company was very attentive to our needs!

I bought this to make for easier entry and exit to a screen room with too tight a zippered doorway. I used sticky backed velcro to attach it to the existing screen. My only complaint is the minimal edging is only at top and bottom, but that also makes it more utilitarian in a variety of ways.

I bought this netting as an inexpensive cover for my chicken yard. The 1/4 inch size is perfect and protects smaller birds from entanglement. It is quite strong as my horse can net break though it with his nose! However, it will not float on top of my goldfish pond. It needs to be staked down at the edges.

I used the netting to secure our pond from ducks and a heron. They were able to take most of our fish prior to the netting. The fish are now safe.

The deer in my neighborhood have no trouble leaping over this fence. When they do, they usually rip it off the post. This fence does not stop the deer from eating my vegetables, as stated by the manufacture. It is merely a bump in the road that is easily overcome by hungry deer. Do not buy this product if you think it is going to save your tomatoes from the deer.

I may try raping my evergreens with it this winter. Maybe it won’t be a complete waste of money?

Many have said here that it is flimsy- true to some extent –but that serves my purpose here too- lets light in and keeps the deer/groundhogs/etc. from eating my crops- it also “blends” in the garden and dosen’t look like a “sheeted” mess — I just cleaned out my garden yesterday after the winter- I hadn’t taken the netting off last fall– and I had to tug hard to remove from the plants that grew into it after my laziness last fall and it was not a problem as to tearing- so all in all I say this is a very good product and is very cost effective and economical! I am back to buy for this year!

Light weight deer fencing is good to keep out critters, but it does have some problems. I was distressed to find a dead toad who had caught himself in the mesh. We also snagged a bird once. After using it one year, it has many tears, and one can’t use a string trimmer near it as it slices right through. On the other hand, it is the best protection for ornamental shrubs and flowers in the summer because it is invisible. Who would want a fence that hides the ornamental plants?

I think that, used alone, it won’t keep out a desperate deer, but it works to keep them discouraged. I have a four foot chain link fence and a large dog. The fencing I use in my vegetable garden is to keep the dog out. The dog keeps the deer from jumping inside the chain link fence. Outside the chain link fence, in the front yard, is where I have ornamental plants.

I use rebar to pound in the ground, and I tie the fencing to it with twine.

I have found that snow fencing is much less vulnerable to tearing and stands up for year after year. Snow fencing is only four feet high. The advantage for this is that it easier to handle. The disadvantage is that deer easily can jump over a four foot fence. It is a good idea to also use repellent at the same time or, for a vegetable garden two fences – one inside the other.

It is possible to find snow fencing that is not orange, but not elegible for Amazon Prime.

Yes, I’ve used this material on my strawberries and it does a wonderful job. I placed a perimeter of the folding green wire border that stand about 14″ to 16″ high and a couple in the middle of my patch and it worked wonders. Had a very nice yield of berries as a result. BUT… we also have huge mums in the fall. Unfortunately, they get so big they kind of split down the middle because of weight. Not any more! Pinch those mums back until the first of August, put some of this netting over them to hold them together like a big old fashioned hair net. The mums look awesome and the netting is almost invisible when you put it on. Really disappears after a about a week or two.
Heh, heh! No more butt cut mums!
