I purchased this product with some trepidation as I needed it to pump water from a river to a garden and lawn about 45 feet above the level of the river. I used a brass foot valve covered with metal screen to exclude debris and about 150 feet of 1 inch utility pipe. The pump supplies enough water to run two sprinklers simultaneously and has now run without a hitch for one full season.

I’m using this to boost the water pressure at my house for outside car/driveway/patio washing it really boosted the water pressure as promised. Also I use it to draw water out of a lake to supply water to a pressure washer to wash my boat, I used 3/4″ intake pvc, now I have the cleanest boat on the lake!
Quite a labor saver and probably saves water when hosing down my driveway and pool patio.
I purchased this pump to replace a similar pump made by Flotec. This pump does a very good job of emptying out the hot tub in a pretty quick fashion. It’s fairly quiet, and seems to be very well made. My only gripe is the need to have to use a wrench to remove the plug for the priming chamber, whereas it was simply a wing-nut type of setup on the Flotec. All in all, it was a good buy for the money.
Purchased this to pump anti-freeze into my burner. Easy to prime. Plenty of pressure to spare. Will easily handle any home application. Pumped in 25 gallons (5 five gallon cans) in several minutes. Read some concerns about the intake hose collapsing due to the pressure so I opted to use some 3/4 copper pipe fittings. Worked like a champ. Cast iron body so you will want to spray in some WD-40 when storing.
I lost track of the Wayne pumps and tried a few umentionables. Finally tracked them down on Amazon. This is a great pump which I have used to move overflow waters from an an umentionable site for at least 25 years when the pump had aluminum castings. The only thing I replaced which were the brushes which should always be on hand. The pump runs continuously for 4 to 5 hours for 5 to 6 times a year and is flawless. ALWAYS rinse out the pump after use and it will run at least 5 years for a brush replacement as I use it. Total rebuilding is not as easy as you you might be led to think.

This pump is the best we’ve found so far for our conditions. This is the third pump (first Wayne)we’ve tried and has far exceeded other pumps we’ve found locally. Has been able to keep up with our very wet season here in the Pacific Northwest. Has kept our sump from filling up with dirt and debris, which normally would clog the other brands we had found in local stores with the added bonus of costing less.
I bought this pump to water my lawn with captured rainwater. I have gone through several other pumps including Wayne pumps, but this pump seems to be the best of the group. It is very quiet, and has an on-off switch which is convenient. It needs to be primed, but it has consistently self-primed from the above-ground tanks I pump captured rainwater from. It can drive one sprinkler with more power than the city’s water pressure. I do not know yet if it will hold up over the long run, so I have to hold back on the last star. However, in about 10 one hour uses, it seems very promising, and worth the extra money over the cheaper and less powerful pumps I have been using.
I’m using it for a yard sprinkling system. There’s a 1′ rise from creek to pump / output is 3/4″ polypipe with a 12′ rise to top of the bank and 200′ of lateral lines. Seems like tons of flow. Best our system has ever worked. For design help try: [...]
It has everything you ever wanted to know about sprinkler systems.
Very poor head; requires filling the priming port every time – which is a real pain. After 6 months (6 uses) it stopped working altogether. I wouldn’t recommend this pump to anyone.
I’ve used this pump for 5 years pushing water 200+ feet up a hill, with no problems at all. Although lower in output, this pump is MUCH easier to use than the gas-driven pump it replaced. You do have to prime it well.
